Gion is a district of Kyoto, Japan, originally developed in front of Yasaka Shrine (Gion Shrine) from the 16th century. It is famous for the preservation of forms of traditional architecture and entertainment. There are Teahouses (ochaya) which have private and closed world where the evening's entertainment may include cocktails, conversation, and games as well as traditional Japanese music, singing and dancing by geisha and maiko (geisha in training). Although It is difficult for the customer without an introduction from a regular customer to enjoy the entertainment with geisha, but you could see a geisha on the street.

Golden pavilion: In 1397, Ashikaga Yoshimitsu started construction of reliquary hall (Kinkaku), completed in 1408. Kinkaku is a three-story wooden castle building, the first layer is a palatial architecture, The second layer is built using samurai-house style, the third layer is the style of Zen temple and the Relics of the Buddha is settled. The roof of Kinkaku is decorated with phoenix. In 1950 the scholar set fire to burn down, and in 1955 the Kinkaku was rebuilt.

Bamboo trail : In the area where tens of thousands of bamboo grows, many trails are run like sewing bamboo grove, and if you walk them slowly you can feel the taste of the Heian era. Also, in the summer you can feel cool with playing the winds of bamboo shoots making noise.

Tenryuu temple (Tenryuu ji) Square Hut garden, or Sougen pond garden in Tenryu temple, was built by Musousoseki as pond and spring strolling garden. It is also landscape borrowing garden which borrows Arashiyama and Kameyama behind with strolling trail around Sougen pond in the center of the garden.
