Asuka is the place where first unified state was established. It was a capital of Japan from 538 to 710. There are a lot of view point including ruins of the Imperial palace, ancient tombs, uniquely shaped stone structures throughout the area. You can enjoy the historical atmosphere and beautiful scenery.

We had a very enjoyable day with Yuri who took us to the main sites we wanted to visit - The Golden Temple, Ryoanji Temple (our favourite with Zen temple and rock gardens), walk through the amazing bamboo forest and ending with the Sanjusan-gendo temple with the 1001 buddhas. Very manageable on a very hot Kyoto day using buses, trains and taxis. Yuri was very informative and efficient. Would highly recommend.

Yuri met us right at osaka pier and took us by train to Kyoto which of course saved us a ton of time. We packed a lot into our tour and surprisingly she got it all done. We even had a mid tour change of plans which she accommodated. She definitely kept the pace going. Good English, knowledgeable and caring. You cannot go wrong hiring Yuri as your guide.
